When Burning-in new caps, does the volume of the music make any difference? What I'm getting at is, if I was to leave the radio or other source on all night with the volume low, would the burn-in be the same as if the volume was at a normal listening level? Just curious if I could somehow speed up the burn-in cycle by leaving the unit on low volume when asleep or not home. Thanks for any insight....

    Basically, yes.

How long does it take to burn in a set of XO cap's. I finished with the Warfedale W35's it is fun listening to the new woofers breaking in, The orignal XO caps where 1971 Hong Kong PCV cap's which I have told where crap from the get-go, and 40 years down the road they didn't improve any, I installed a set of Dayton's. The W35's sure do sound a whole lot better now.

From what I have read here, for my application (RTA11TL upgrade and SDA2BTL upgrade) 300-400 hours.

    Having done this several times,

I heard a change instantly (A bit Harsh), then at 200hrs(sibliance calmed some) a more subtle change at 300hrs(Easier to listen to for extended periods) and by 400hrs they became super smooth. Actually the 400hr mark may be a bit high. All of a sudden I noticed they were smoother or should I say awesome to listen to for hours upon end. It wasn't like a light switch.

I usually leave the speakers on at a low to medium volume for a few days to really start the process. Like 3 days or 72hrs. Although the times don't really vary at all.

They'll change over time but a good couple hundred hours minimum.
