Hi All,

I want to set up the following surround sound speaker system.

Polk Audio Monitor 70 AM7022-A 3-Way Floorstanding Speaker X4
Polk Audio Monitor Series CS2 Center Channel Speaker X1
Polk Audio Monitor Series PSW10 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer X2

My question is would it be feasible to set up 4 Floorstanding speakers or to have 2 Floor standing speakers with 2 Monitor 40's as my rear speakers. What do you guys think is the best. Would appreciate any info.

Best is subjective, but 4 floor standers in my opinion is wasted. The 2 70's up front, the cs2, all cool, but look for a surround speaker that's made for that position, maybe a dipole/bi-pole design to give a wider surround field. Also that sub will leave you wanting more. If you are budget minded, the POLK 505 is way better and won't break the bank either.

im with tony, buy some proper surrounds and upgrade the subs to the 505s

or just go with the monitor 40s and the 505s

something like these could be ideal:
