Gnd and all hum gone

Hi again,I really hate to be a pain in the **** but something has been bothering me for some time. As maybe in a previous post I told you guys I had built my own rack using 3/4'' sanded ply painted black w/ angel irons as the struts and bracing. Well I kept getting an annoying and noticeable gnd hum and I tried the usual process of illimination to no avail and it got worse when the out HDMI cable was plugged in. Since all that I totatally dismantled the rack and now have a nice stack of gear w/ absolutely no hum hiss noise what so ever. What I can't figure out is that the home rack was on a hardwood floor w/ a piece of 3/4 ply as the base .No metal touched anything and the only thing I did was to loosely tyrap the wires to the angel iron to conceal the wires. So what could cause this gnd hum if it is that as I said nothing was shorted or touching any bare steel.Any ideas,again it's resovled and I hope never to vist humville again...

    Did you run the signal carrying cables and power cables in the same bundle?
    If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

    I quite possible did .I should have known better from myalarm installing days were the rule was never run low voltage wires paralell to high voltage ones.This could very well been the problem but I saw it as such a minor run and again did not tighten the tyraps to eat into the wires.
