Just curious to see what you guys think of this potential upgrade, or if I should consider something else to replace my Yamaha PX-3, or do I just keep what I have.

The Nak was a nice unit in its day, but it has to many possible issues that could occur even with all the capacitors upgraded. If you search turntables on the Gon and then sort by price the VIP classic with the Ortofon Black or the Nottingham Spacedeck might be better to consider in this used price range IMO.

Nothing wrong with NAK, it was awesome in it's day as was most of the Dragon stuff they made. But I think Doctor R has a good idea there. VIP or Rega like mine with an acrylic platter would do a better job for less money.

Here is an example of my TT, gotta say I love it!

Awesome table, but parts and repair knowledge are non-existent. Certainly for that kind of coin you can build a much more reliable table using more common elements.

For that kind of money, why not buy new?

I've purchased a few items with the work bench in the background, a higher than average cost and the long story to go with it, wouldn't do it again. Although many people can do great things at the bench they normally don't present their work in this way, just my opinion.

For that amount of coin I would certainly go with something more recent and probably used.
