    For those who don't know, it has an optical input, so it can also be used as a DAC.

    You might want to hang on to that puppy hair. I've heard it really improves the SQ of MG20's when you weave it in and out of the panels.:razz:

    I may be interested at $900. I live in San Diego, CA. I believe that you do as well? This way you don't have to pay for shipping. I have a Marantz SA8004 hooked up to a Naim Nait XS. I was thinking that the SA 15S2 might be an upgrade on the 8004. Do you think we could do a side by side comparison of the two units? If the 15S2 sounds better I would pay you the $900 in cash there and then. If this interests you let's get in touch.

    That's a definite possibility and I think the price is fair. I currently have the Marantz back in my HT rig and have been doing some side-by-side comparisons as well. Where in San Diego are you located?

    oops looks like I can't send you a private message because of my newbie status. my ph # is 512-905-2627. Give me a call or send me a text and I can give you my complete address. If anything it should be fun to compare the SA-15S2 to the SA8004. The SA8004 does have a USB dac though, which the SA-15S2 does not. However, if SA15's cd/sacd playback is superior it is worth it for me to switch between the two and consider getting a separate USB DAC, as those can be found relatively cheap at high quality these days.

My e-mail address is shariqansari@sbcglobal.net if you want to get in touch with me by e-mail maybe we can strike a deal on my Marantz SA8004. I am putting it up for sale. The unit is barely 4-5 months old and in mint condition. The USB dac alone is worth the price as it sound quality is at about 99% of the cd playback. Let me know if you're interested because I will eventually put it on audiogon if you are not. Would rather just give you a good deal then inflate the price on audiogon due to all the fees and surcharges that audiogon put's on gear.
