Looking to fix up old turntable!

My mom recently got her old turntable back, a Pioneer PL-A450, from her brother who had been keeping it in storage. The first time we plugged it in, we couldn't get it to work, although we heard clicking noises from inside. After removing the platter, we found that the drive belt had disintegrated and was reduced to a black gunk sticking to the platter and inside surface of the turntable. It doesn't appear to have gotten into the motor or any electronics, but I was wondering about a good way to get rid of the residue. I'm hoping to be able to look up the proper belt size so I can replace it.
Are there any other things I should do to restore the turntable to good working condition? I'm not afraid of taking things apart a little and getting my hands dirty, though I don't have a soldering iron and I'm not very knowledgeable about electronics. The motor seems to be in good shape, but I suppose a little lube wouldn't hurt. Any other suggestions?

Could try a little alcohol to get the belt residue off the metal parts. If that doesn't work then a little Goof Off. Just keep it away from plastics.

Yeah I figured scraping off the excess with something plastic and disposable and getting the rest with Goo Gone would do the trick.
Thanks for the link for the belt!My Stereo: Tannoy D100s, Yaqin MC-100B, VPI Traveler, Dynavector 10x5 MC Phono Cartridge, heavily modified Yaqin MS-22B phono preamp, TEAC EQA-20 equalizer, Belkin PureAV PF30 Power Conditioner, Canare 4s11 speaker cables, Custom dust cover from DigitalDeckCovers -

Goo Gone is the way to go. It won't hurt plastics. Goof Off is solvent based and will melt plastics etc.SDA-1C (full mods)

Well it took a lot of scrapin' and scrubbin' with a plastic spoon, Goo Gone, and lots of paper towel, but I got most of it off. There's still some black residue that I can't seem to get rid of, but there isn't anything gunking up the platter anymore. Ordering a replacement belt now, thanks to skrol! My Stereo: Tannoy D100s, Yaqin MC-100B, VPI Traveler, Dynavector 10x5 MC Phono Cartridge, heavily modified Yaqin MS-22B phono preamp, TEAC EQA-20 equalizer, Belkin PureAV PF30 Power Conditioner, Canare 4s11 speaker cables, Custom dust cover from DigitalDeckCovers
