Hi guys,
I 'm really not into movies all that much but since I have the player I do use it on occassion.First off I bought the thing as an open box at BB w/ remote and made them play it to make sure it worked and it does.At home I play store bought blu/rays and reg dvds w/ no problem. Now the rub,my bro in law somehow burns first run movies on discs and they do work on my computer but not the player itself. So now I have about 15 movies doing nothing but gathering dust.I tried to call Tosiba c/s but there seems to be no human who works there. One other thing because it was an open box I got no instuction manual or cut sheet of any kind. I've read the reviews on this product and they are terrible but when it works it's fine for me and I do not use an i-net source. So is there any setting that I'm missing that would play these burned dvds on this player?

He might be burning them in a format the Player does not recognize. It may be that simple.
Do you have a regular DVD player? Maybe try it in that to know for sure.
What is the Exact model number of your Blu-ray player? I can't find any info at Toshiba for the model in your signature. -
Might be some sort of privacy protection too built into the player itself.HT SYSTEM-

Joe,I gave your idea a whirl and vialla it works on my Denon 1940 ci regular cdp/dvd.I tried only 1 movie so far but it worked and the movie itself sucked.Tinker Tailor Spy did not work for me at all. Now though I have many others and hopefully they should work as well. What I did notice was a much longer load time and this countdown then the movie. Thanks for the tip.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E
