Lsi9 Cross-over Upgrades. Who's still doing them?
Anyone still willing to perform this ugprade for money? Looking at having it done on three LSi9's.
Thought about upgrading my speakers for a while and auditioned A LOT of bookshelves in the $1,000-$1,500 range over the past two weeks....which, suprisingly, made me appreciate the LSi9's quite a bit more. These things really hold their own against much more expensive speakers (even at today's prices), and at this price range, things get really subjective. I'm finding that I prefer the sound/timbre of the LSi's compared to others, and am most interested in an improvement of its base characteristics.

Crossover upgrades? SN: VR3 will do it.... clarity caps or if you got money mundorf supremes....

Alot of time I will use a nice lytic + film cap bypass on the low end to save costs...
Most folks just dont want to invest that much up front...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
Just spent a bunch of money on audio recently so I gotta wait for this upgrade. But I will be upgrading in a couple months, and doing the work myself since I solder all the time and have some good equipment. Could you tell me if it's an absolute requirement to do the LSiC or is it ok to put this off, i.e. how voice mis-matched are modded and unmodded LSi's?
-
The speakers will no longer be voiced matched - but I would definitely recommend doing the mains first and the center last unless you just want to do them all at the same time...- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

VR3...Do you require just the XO's to do your mods or do you need the whole speaker? And I'm sure there's different levels of mod's so how do we get a quote on what you can do to a set of RTi A7's and a CSi A6?Anaheim Hills CA,

VR3:
1) Is it possible to upgrade an Lsifx? I don't hear about mod's on those. If no, why, and will there be a noticeable timbre difference between modded Lsi9's, Lsic and stock Lsifx's?
2) Like "gce" said, "Are there different prices for different levels of mods?
3) How difficult is it to remove the XO's in the Lsi series?
4) What is your turn around time?
