picking the right cd player..thoughts

im looking for a cd player..i would like to get one that has VOLUME CONTROL so i can hook it to my denon poa 2200 amp....i was told by original owner i could hook it directly to cd player this way..are there any pros n cons to doing this. i do believe i just plugs into the cd rca plugs in back of unit..im thinking as long as my reciever is off this should work. it has the plugs hooked directly to my reciever already. then there is plugs not being used now for the cd player....will this be better performance. less items to turn on to use...the cd player would have to have volume control. what cd players do that. what is acerage price range for these...any feedback is what i need. thank you for viewing post

    ok. maybe i misunderstood him. i was thinking the cd player had to have a volume control knob..i was thinking that the cd player sends signals to reciever. the reciever adjusts volume......i was thinking of hooking direct line from cd player to amp.....maybe ive never owned one like yours. all my cd players ive had/have do not have a volume adjustable knob on them.....or.....do i use the knobs on amp. ( right
    left ) i have not tried this. just wasnt sure..maybe i need to experience it..my luck ill fry the unit. lol....thank you. ill try

    hey. im not sure im breaking rules. but i went to you site. those speakers are BEAUTIFUL makes me want them. makes my wife wanna divorce me. then i can buy more. gonna miss her. lol. thanx for making it viewable. gives me more drive to get some n work with what i got now. thanx

    As long as the CDP's volume control is analog, it would work fine.

    hey. thank you all so much. tonight i hooked a cd player up to the denon poa amp. it works awesome. its going from the cd player right to the amp to the speakers....i played KANSAS on the sda2's and WOW i think it sounds better direct. its probably the same. just agree with me. lol.....update.....i picked up a MINT Harman Kardon 3470 today for 100.00 wow. goodbye avr system...
