Hi all,

newbie here =o)

My room is not a big one, therefore I see no need for a floorstanding speaker.

I have a pioneer vsx-521k receiver and I am 100% decided on a csi20 as a central speaker.

I am thinking in going with the tsi200 for the front speaker but I heard the rti a3 today, and now I am not quite sure which one is better for this set up.

For the surround I am thinking in using the OWM3 speakers.

Still struggling with the sub, my first plan was to get a bash 300s amp to hook in a shallow sub (fosgate p3s 10"/12") but now I am not so sure.

so any inputs are more than welcomed.

Cheers,
Sergio

The tsi200 is timbre matched to the csi20 so if you are stuck on that center then I would recommend going that way.... If you like the rti a3 though you should consider getting the matching csi a6 or a4 ... It is important for the front 3 to match or it will sound weird..

If you note my center is not matched to my mains (because I just upgraded the mains). It sounds very weird and the cs2 is gone as soon as I can afford the matching center... Also note that it isn't because the cs2 is a bad speaker... It just has different sound properties.

Edit: ^^^ Yeah, what he said! :-)

Welcome to Club Polk! If you go with RTiA3, you're going to want at least CSiA4 as a better match for your center.

    Hi there,

quick update, doing some math the CS20 will be almost the double of the price of the CS10 for me.
So new question, does the difference between cs20 and cs10 worth douple of the price? or the cs10 will be as good as cs20

    Cheers,

The cs20 cost more for a reason, it's a better center channel speaker. So the answer is no, the cs10 is not as good as the cs20.

    Hi Tony,

thanks but my question was if it's worth paying the double for the cs20. I know it is a better speaker but I don't want to pay the double for it if the difference isn't that big.

The center channel does about 80% of the vocals in a home theater application... So it is very important if that is your intended use. It's impossible to tell you if its worth it because that is a completely subjective question..

What I can tell you is that almost all of the people on this forum that run the monitor/tsi/rti systems go with the cs2/cs20/rti a6 respectively...

+1 for the OWM3. They're a very good entry-level surround speaker. I'm using them in my bedroom setup right now. You might want to go through the MCACC on your receiver and bump the volume on them up just a little, just so they'll match up with the fronts a little better, though.

    Hi all,

finally received the frontal speakers (tsi200)... they are just awesome
Still waiting for the central one though =o) (csi20)

Still haven't decided what to do as a sub... I like the idea of a shallow sub, however they are expensive =o(
Any ideas for a nice sub that will be used 99% for movies?

    Cheers,
    Sergio
