Difference between Tsi 500 and Rti A9 ?
Hi,
unfortunately we have not too many sound stores here in Barcelona (only lots of noise...) and I'm interested to buy Polkaudio speakers, just cannot figure out what the main difference is between TSi 500 and RTi A9 ? What should I buy ? Thanks J

Hello and welcome to the forum.
That depends on the rest of your system. Do you already own any Polk speakers? Are you using them for a 2channel set up or home theater of both?
Both are great speakers but the A9 is about three steps up from the TSi.
Could you provide a little more information?Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2

Hi ! Thanks for the reply !
No, I don't have any other polk speakers, I might buy a subwoofer but these speakers would not be for home theater, more for audio listening - from rock to classic ...streaming or CDs.
Do I need a subwoofer for A9 and Tsi 500 ?
They would be in a large room. -
Eh I think you should rethink your approach
The RTiA9 will need a hellion of an amplifier to be driven..
Get something that is easier to drive - like perhaps the bookshelf in the line up or the dual driver tower... then get a subwoofer to fill in the bottom end.
If you have a large room the subs on the RTiA9 will be ineffective without a BIG amplifier to drive them.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
What kind of equipment do you have already?Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2

I have an old Marantz PM7000 that first would (or should) do the job, but I guess I'll invest here as well, so any suggestions of good combinations are welcome.
On the other hand I have an Onkyo DR S2.0 set up with Kef HTS 2001.3 (5.1) for the TV, could use this Amp as well.
I know it's all a bit out of date, so time for a new set up, especially for the audio. (TV is in another room)
@VR3 : guess you are right but I would like to have a minimum of "stuff" in the living room, idea was : AVR + 2 excellent speakers (Polkaudio :-)) and maybe a subwoofer (but prefer not too). -
hmm line seems to be dead.
thanks anyway for the info - guess I'll buy the A9 and a new powerful driver.
cheers -

If you are willing to get an external amp, the a9s should do well all around. It's the speaker I would chose if I had a fairly large room and were building a 50/50 HT/Music setup and planed on a decent amp. TSI500 will need a sub for sure, the a9 might not, that just depends on your personal need for bass. Either way, a9 is a better speaker than tsi500.Living Room 7.1 HT Rig:

for the price of the RTia9 you can buy new LSI15 or LSi9 bookshelves. they are geared more towards music as the RTia9 are more for HT. the LSi15s would need a 4 ohm stable amp to power them well. they love power.mole'
