Dumb question of the night. I've got an Onkyo HT-R520 http:\\www.lotsoffun.org\share\onkyo520.jpg This is the manual for it. http://lotsoffun.org/share/onkyo520.pdf .... I have 4 Monitor 40 speakers. Do I just connect to the Front *A* and Front *B* speakers R/L to get 4 channel stereo or is there a better way? I've got a 38' x 16' room. Bar, Pool Table, seating. No theater crap. I just want it to rock. I'm trying to start with a Monitor 40 in each corner, then add BIC F12 or something. Maybe 2 Dayton 12's. I love the 4 monitor 40's for $65 each. The Onkyo 520 still has a sticker on the front that says 1,000W but that's with the sub it came with. It does pull 6.5A from the wall so it's not wimpy. I want it to rock good stereo.

Yes, A and B for 4 channel stereo. I might add that the room is fairly large for monitor 40's and that receiver is pretty much entry level so just be careful trying to crank it up too loud.

I looked at the picture. the A channel connections are for your maim front stereo speaker.
The B channel were ment for providing stereo to a second room. if you make A+B active that means you should be able to listen the same music in the two different room say room A and room B in he house. if you enable only room A or room B then sound will only be in whatever room you enabled.

keep in mind that B channel is ussually a lower power rating than the A channel.

my onkyo is similar and the Bs are indeed meant for zone 2.
i suggest connect all 4 sp. then set speaker config to reflect left, right, surr. left, surr right, sub(?) and no center.
then run the receiver in "all channels stereo" mode.
this will still have all 4 in A and bypass B.
from what i gather this will prob get you the most efficient performance
