My last two purchases

1) An Adcom pre- from Syndil here on CP. Let me first say what a great transaction this has been between the two of us. Only the USPS has caused a little confusion. I've been keeping up with the package and I see on Friday morning that it is "out for delivery." My son was sick and my wife had a few important meetings, so I stayed home with my son on Friday. I wait all day and no delivery. Log on to CP and have a pm from Syndil that says delivery was attempted and a notice was left at the house. WTH, I've been home all day. I go to the front porch and there is no delivery notice to be found. Call the post office and the phone rings about 25 time, but no one answers. I go to get my mail this morning and what do I find, a delivery notice telling me the item is at the post office. I call the post office and the lady tells me they are open until 5:00. Go to the post office at 2:30 to a locked up building and a sign with hours of operation that clearly shows they close at 12:00 on Saturday. Again, I want to emphasize that Syndil has been great to work with and I would most definitely buy from him again. Just a crazy experience with the USPS.
2) This one should probably be in the "Best Buy is getting slammed" thread. I get an e-mail on Wednesday informing me that I can reserve a copy of the new iPad at my local Best Buy. I go in, ask if they have the model I want, and when I find out they don't, I tell the guy I'd like to reserve one. He tells me they can't reserve them, but I let him know that I just got an e-mail from Best Buy telling me they could. After about 10 minutes of waiting for someone else to help me, the same guy comes over and reserves one for me.
THEN WHEN I GO TO PICK IT UP:
I hand the girl at customer service my printed e-mail stating that the item is ready for pick-up. She starts typing things into the computer and I can tell it's not good. She calls a manager over who looks at things and doesn't seem to know any more than the girl helping me. Manager leaves and the girls continues typing into the computer and looking confused at everything that comes on her screen. She calls the manager back over and he takes the iPad and tells me he is going to work it out. (I'm thinking, "Work what out? Just let me pay for it.") He stays gone about 10 minutes and comes back with two other guys, one of which goes to the girl in customer service and tells her that I just need to pay for the iPad. So it took me about 25 minutes to get an iPad that was waiting for me in customer service.
I planning to go to Modia tomorrow for a little clearance sale. Hope I have better luck there.

Obviously no interest in this thread, but I thought it was funny that I just got an e-mail from Best Buy reminding me pick up my order...the order that I waited 25 minutes to pick up on Saturday.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden

I didn't go. My wife decided I didn't need to spend $2K on a pre-amp. She's probably right, but I sure wanted the McIntosh they had advertised. The ads sure made it look as if there were some great deals to be had.Which iPad did you get and which Pre-Amp?
The new iPad 32gig wi-fi (no 4g)
Pre- is an Adcom GTP-880 I bought here at CP. I almost replaced it with the aforementioned McIntosh before it ever even arrived at my house.AsSiMiLaTeD wrote: »Which Best Buy, you're not going to the one over in The Colony are you?Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
That really sucks and the BB team you dealt with are beyond unprofessional. That's why I don't like going to BB. I only go if I know exactly what I want. I would never ask them for help. Hope things improve for you after experiencing those two bad days. Here's some good karma:arrow::razz::razz::razz::arrowl:
