My SACD player wont put out any sound in 2 ch with an SACD. Reg CDs work fine in 2 ch and I can get sound in multi channel 5.1 mode with an SACD, but nothing in 2 ch. I have checked all the settings, and still nothing. Opt output. Weird. Any suggestions?

I think you have to use the analog outputs for SACD....not optical (digital). In 5.1 you're probably hearing a downmix PCM version.

Ok guys, thanks. It only has opt dig out and then the analog 5.1 output. Have the RCA jacks input into my multi channel in on my Pio, so I have to set the AVR to "Multi-Channel In". No biggie really, just wanted to hear the SACD in two channel stereo.

BTW...you can use any 2ch input on the recv'r....doesn't have to be "Multi-Channel In"

Ah! That makes sense. The AVR doesn't know any better. Now I feel dumb. Thanks for the insight
