remote for my pre-amp not working

I was enjoying a great tune session with a real nice buzz on when the remote stopped working 
For me a remote is critical :redface: I seem to need adjust the volume depending on the song and won't get up to adjust it manually. Plus I tend to adjust the volume down between songs when listening at higher volume levels.
My pre-amp is a anthem pre2L. I did replace the batteries with fresh Duracell's with no change :sad:
I love this pre-amp and hope it is something simple.
I know a few of you guys have or had this pre-amp and really need to solve this problem. Maybe I should call Sonic Frontiers :question:
