LSiC or a Sub

So I just finished purchasing the following:

LSi15s for the fronts
LSi7s for the rears (I know the FXs are better, but I'm already pushing the WF with the 15s and the 7s, god forbid I stick something other than art on the walls)

So now I'm at a crossroads. I only purchased the above now because they are on sale from polk until the end of the month. However, the LSiC doesn't look like it's going to be changing price any time soon. So I come to you to ask if it's worthwhile to get the center now and wait on a sub, or vice versa? After just purchasing an amp and still needing to purchase the receiver, one of these guys will have to wait a month or so.

Also, if you could recommend a sub, I would appreciate it. Try to keep it below $500 if you could, though $400 would be better. Not sure what a good sub budget is. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Depends if you are a basshole or not. I have 4 LSi15s, I used to have an LSic (now I have a PSB Synchrony one center), and a PSW1000 sub. I rarely turn the sub on. I could care less if I am missing some extra low-energy noise that comes from the sub. For 99.9% of the time the LSi15s put out more than enough bass to annoy the neighbors. I just watched Super 8 last night and was overwhelmed by the bass in some of the scenes. Without the sub.

On the other hand, the center is integral for a good balance in the front for HT. If you use your HT for multi-channel SACD it also is essential.

I'd get the center first then get the sub later. Look at the Epik Legend for $499.

Center then a sub, or better yet...twin subs if you can swing it. I had the 15's before & they are quite respectable in the bass department but fall well short when augmented with a well calibrated sub (subs) in your room. For both music & HT the difference is quite rewarding.

My thoughts exactly. Epik Legend should be pretty good with that setup.

Center first. There is an lsic on ebay for 235+20 for shipping... great deal IMO.

100% agree. The center channel is an absolute must. It's paramount to have in 5.1 setups. Most of the dialogue and other important audio is ran through the center channel. Plus, the LSi15's are quite respectable in the low ends, unless you're a basshole... lol

Well I guess that answers that question. pearsall001 brought up a good point though, do I need one or two subs? The room is fairly large, 27' by 14' (14' being from the wall to where the kitchen starts), with the left side completely open (half goes into the kitchen and the other half goes into the dinning room) and a half wall in the back that goes into the hallway (see my amazing paint skills below). Ceilings are vaulted, not sure if that matters.

I agree with those saying go with the center first since the LSi15s do a pretty good job on the low end. Also, agree with grimmace19 on the pretty nice looking LSiC available on ebay for $235 + s/h.

However, I'd be VERY tempted to check out the other guy on ebay who has LSiCs NEW for $720!! He's had them listed since last May....AND, if you can stand any more...he's ONLY had 11 NEGATIVE feedbacks in his last 132 transactions. Pretty darn hard to beat!

I am SOOOO all over that purchase. I wont keep my hopes up though - Im sure it will be a bloody bidding war with a sniper waiting to steal the speaker at the last second for $800!
Do you hear that buzzing noise?
