denmark E830LR

okay so hear me out on this, a friend gave me 2 towers that they had in their garage and had no use for. they are the "denmark E830LR", a quick google search told me that these are white van speakers and i was already suspicious when i read from the back of the floorstanding speaker that they were rated for 400w.
well the point is each tower seems pretty solidly built, like 40lbs each. i plugged them in out of curiosity and they did not sound anywhere near as nice as my little tsi100's but they did sound louder at the same volume as the tsi's and they did have base. not as deep as a subwoofer but not as weak as just the tsi's i have. right now i actually have one of the towers with the two 8" woffers connected as my subwoofer and i actually like it. not earth shattering but still nice.
would it be a completely blasphemous thing to replace the tweeter and the smaller of the 3 woofers with the units from my tsi? or is the space way to big for a tsi100 woofer to sound nice? also would the two bigger 8 inch woofers somehow interfere with the sound of the tsi100 speaker if i put it into the floor standing speaker?
im doing this mainly for fun since im picking up an rti8 this weekend to start building a somewhat nice HT setup. but i feel like no matter how high up the polk audio line i could go, bass is something id have to sacrifice in a 2.0 setup and this tower i got for free gives me hope that i can have a very good 2 channel setup for enjoying music in my room for pretty cheap if i just have to buy speakers for the towers.
well any feedback would be greatly appreciated. if the polk audio speakers are somehow to sensitive or just too specifically designed to work only in the enclosures they were meant for i can always get some old sony speakers i have laying around to make these towers into some garage boom boxes
i would just rather invest the cost of some polk speakers into a free tower than to mess with a nicer polk tower by putting different speakers into it.
