1.2's Taking Shape

Soon I will be able to really enjoy the 1.2's. Got the x-overs (thanks Toolfan66)to make them TL's in Sept now am anxiously waiting on the 198's to arrive. Also have a sweet interconnect from pepster for that SDA effect. Need to do a little cosmetic work on the grill cloth, and they will look great too. I can't wait until we move to a bigger place. I have cleaned out the listening room but I bought this house 15 years ago when it was just me and my 2 kids. Now I have a wife and her 3!!! Where the hell is Alice. This place needs a cleaning!

    Athnaku sir! If I remember correctly, I did yours and Falconcry's SDA cables at the same time.
    Brgman has the same cable.
    3 cables total and that was it.
    You have one of 3.

    Can't wait to hear your thoughts on those crossovers!

    Still waiting on the tweeters so it's going to be a while to I can actually do any listening, but I will post and give my impression. Seems there was a little mix up in the billing. They charged the card twice for the tweets now that account was over drawn. My wife was handling the transaction as the tweets were a birthday present. Had to fax bank statements, what a mess. All of my experience with Polk CS has been outstanding. I hope she can say the same. But despite the little sidebar and back to the topic, I can't wait to hear them after the break in phase. I'm guessing I'm going to need to mod the connectors? I had SL2000's in there so I'm just remembering an older post that they are not plug and play. There's a mod that needs to be done on the + lead? The x-overs are TL'd so I know I am ready for the tweets.

    You need to change out the negative terminal (white wire) at the tweeter with a wider one. Not sure of the size at the moment. After you do all 8 tweeters then go to the tweeter wire harness and using a Molex tool,

    starting from left to right, switch the - and the + wires so that it looks like this. 12TLrightspeakerxoverpics003.jpg

    Make sure that the inside binding post cup looks like the photo shown below.

    Just realized that you were going to do this last August... the wait will be worth it.
