Amp for Channels with differing wattage

So the story goes: I'm receiving a friend's theater setup as he's upgrading to newer stuff. I'm kinda a novice in this area but had a question.
I'm getting speakers only: Monitor 70 fronts, 50 rears, cs2 center and a psw125 sub... In seeking a good way to power all of this, I notice that the fronts are rated to 275watts, and the rears to 150 (center/sub in between). All amps and receivers i've read about supply the individual channels with the same amount of wattage. Is this bad? Is there an alternative?
Also I'm wondering what the typical way to wire in a sub is... multi-channel amps don't seem to factor it in and I'm curious.

Most subs including the one above is self powered, so you would simply connect via an IC to your receiver or prepro. Then if you got a separate amp to power your speakers, you can get a 5 channel amp, I always recommend a 200wpc @ 8ohms which is enough to power just about any speaker now & in the future to their full potential.

You would calibrate all of your speakers and away you go. You won't hurt anything with too much power unless you get carried away with the volume, but there is a greater chance of damage when you under power your speakers & then try to turn up the volume too much.

The speakers will only take what they need, it is important that the power is there when they need it.

Choose whichever receiver that has all the bells and whistles that you want it to have and make sure it has preouts to add a separate amp.
