Putting out a feeler for a pair LSi9's (may have a chance to buy a pair of 15's locally). Not 100% sure on this, but any takers if it does fall through?

I'll post more recent/detailed pics when I get a chance. I'm the second owner of these...purchased these from a Polkie about two years back. There's a small scratch on the bottom part of the panels on one of the speakers. Not visible when the speaker is set-up, but it is there.

I still have the original boxes, and I'm pretty sure I have both grills (will have to double check).

sorry, but 450 is little high. right now, you get can a new set for 510 shipped at ASD. you may want to lower it down to like 400 shipped :) You speakers look great though.

Not cool. Either send him a pm or keep your thoughts to yourself.

How can post something like this and think it's okay???

GLWTS. Very much worth the asking price IMO.

I downsized from towers to my 9's, and haven't looked back. As a L/R combo they are tough to beat at the sellers asking price, detailed, smooth, everything you want from a bookshelf. I've also got the matching center, and I'm very happy with the sound.

    GLWTS!

Very clever using an additional 9 as a center, looks much better than my LSiC.

I've been looking to do this same setup. The 9's as an LCR and move my 15's to my 2ch room, and sell my lsic. Thanks for the feedback! Really thinking about this sale!

How do those sound with the Onkyo 805 as the pre? I'm curious because I've never tried my LSis with the Onkyo (I have an 805 as well). Thanks!

I actually decided to hold on to these, and am in the process of having Trey upgrade the cross-overs.

I auditioned a lot of speakers to replace the LSi9's, and IMO, while there are a lot of great speakers out there, the LSi9's really do hold their own against much more expensive lines.

I've only used Onkyo receivers with the LSi's so I can't comment too much. I did have these running off an onkyo 706 for a while though, and while I prefer the clarity of the 805 close to reference levels, I like the dynamics of the 706 across the board. A lot of it had to do with Audyssey dynamic EQ in the 706 vs MultEQXT (+better DAC's) in the 805 I'm thinking. Dynamic EQ has a tendancy to try to kill my subwoofer at higher volumes for HT, so I stuck with the 805.

The Marrantz 6006 and Anthem MX-300 is on my short-list to replace the 805 sometime soon!

I'm never doing towers again, waste of space and sound quality. More drivers does not mean better sound, just more sound and higher power requirements. Never again...

Will do. I've spent a lot of time auditioning speakers...most of them costing quite a bit more than the LSi's. I'm banking on the xover upgrades bringing the LSi9's to that level. The LSi9's certainly hold their own from a sound-quality wise to much more expensive speakers, and has all the right components and a solid speaker cabinet to compete. I'm thinking the crossovers are ultimately what are holding these back.

I agree, especially from a cost perspective. Whatever budget you have for a given floorstander, will usually afford you a higher quality bookshelf. A high quality sub will make you never care for floorstanders.....ie the Hsu VTF-3 is an extremely nuanced sub that blends seamlessly when playing music, while pressurizing the room better than a floorstander could for home theater.
I would be if you are willing to ship.

I might be in a couple of months when I finally replace it. Epik empire is on my short-list, and the dimensions are similar. I'm thinking I might be able to ship the Hsu in the Epik's box.

Thanks. Took these a couple of years ago, and did not really know what I was doing back then (ie, missed focus on the closeup of the tweeter), but the lens I had back then was really good. It was a tack sharp copy of the 50mm 1.8...the lens was cheap and eventually broke, but I haven't had a sharper lens since (including a replacement 50mm 1.8, a 50mm 1.4, and several "L" lenses)

With upgraded xovers, these should be able to run with the big dogs. Good choice.

Are you missing something with the HSU, or just looking to try something different. I have LSi9s and VTF-3 combo as well, and just wondering what is motivating you to make a change in sub?

Building out a dedicated HT room and want more chest-pounding output, otherwise the VTF-3 is great. Adding a second VTF-3 isn't out of the question either.

That said, the HT is MUCH smaller than my current living-room, so I'll see how it performs once the build out is complete before I put it up for sale.
