Hi i am in the process of building a system for my car and im going to end up with 5 polk amps. The combined wattage that they will draw at the right Ohm's 1900 watts. I currently have a db link 4 gauge power wire that is supposedly rated at 2000 watts. I wasn't sure if the numbers are too close to call it safe or if i should up to a 0/1 power wire. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Are we talking RMS wattage here? If you really have 1900 RMS then I would recommend running a single 0/1 guage wire back to a distribution block and then from there use 4 guage to the amps.Audison Bit Ten

I agree with pentoncm on running the 0/1 gauge from batter to a distro block. Be sure to put a fuse no more than 18 inches away from the battery. I would run 4 gauge for power, and ground for all the amps that will run your door speakers, and tweets. I would then run a 0/1 gauge for power, and ground for the amps that will push your subs. What amps do you have?

i have two of the PA880 for my subs that i am running at 2 ohms so they are rated 500rms each. then i have a PA330 that is which i will try and wire it down to a two ohm load so it will push 150 total for both channels. one PAD2000.2 which is 250 rms for both channels at 4 ohms. and finally i have the PAD4000.4 which pushes 500rms for the 4 lines combined at 4 ohms. i currently have a 4 gauge power fused at the battery and ran to one PA880 for a sub. this is still a work in progress and i don't actually have all the amps yet but this is what i plan to get because they match up with my speakers well and they all have a low footprint so it works out well with trunk space. the rca's and remote turn on are fine its just the power thing thats bothering me. id rather be safe than sorry with all this money.
