SL2500 Tweeters

I somehow managed to blow the tweeters in my Monitor 10b's and I would really prefer to replace just the tweeters rather than getting all new speakers. From what I have researched I should be getting a model SL2500 tweeter. Does anyone have these for sale?

    Are your Monitor 10s marked "Series 2?" Those are the ones that came with the SL2500 tweeter. If not series 2, you'll want to determine what model your tweeters are before ordering. The SL2500 tweeters have a foam ring and look like this; the SL2000 tweeter has visible horizontal leads to each side of a silver dome and looks like this.

    The SL2500 are pretty rare to find, although someone here may have a pair. I'd recommend calling up Polk and ordering the silk-dome replacement tweeters (an upgrade!). Make sure to get the correct replacement. The tweeter that replaces the SL2500 is the RD0-198; the replacement for the SL2000 is the RD0-194.

    Mention that you're a member of Club Polk and get discount pricing/free shipping to the lower 48 states, I believe $48 is the price per tweeter.

    Thanks for your response! Mine are not the Series 2, the tweeters look really close to the ones in the 5b, but the leads are at an angle instead of horizontal. So I believe they are a version of the SL2000's. So I would want to get the RD0-194's right?

    Sounds like you have SL1000 or peerless tweeters.. are they silver faced(SL1000) or black faced(peerless) with what looks like a hole(dimple) in the center of the dome? In either case I think the RDO194 is the replacement.

    Crisis averted! I feel so stupid, yet relieved! The fuses on the back were blown! Either way, that you all for your help and I am probably going to upgrade the tweeters anyways.

    Well, now I actually did blow my tweeters. I can't seem to find RDO194's anywhere. This is all that I can find that I think would work.

    Would that work, or is there somewhere that I could get RDO194's

    Contact Polk customer service tomorrow to order the rdo194's. Did you ever figure out what model tweets you have? I believe the 194's are a drop in replacement for sl-2000's but I'm not sure about the Sl-1000's or peerless, probably worth figuring out before dropping $96 on a pair or tweets.

    they will work but either will not fit exactly. Both Sl2000 and RDO's are a smidgen bigger in the bezel area.
