Sub for SRS2's

I have this pristine pair of SRS2's. I thought the base was lacking, so I took the subwoofer out and it doesn't have a magnet!! I have this set of subwoofers from Realistic Mach One's that fit the cutout perfectly, and would probably really pump up the base, but there's no wires for them. Can I just hook them up to the binding posts??

THANKS! You guys are great!

(P.S. I haven't been on here in a long time and I'm just trying to stir something up! I'm actually just about to upgrade the crossovers!)

I'd say go for it. Those should sound fantastic. Those dummies at the Polk factory probably forgot to add the magnet.

What's wrong with the "Base"? Seems to sufficiently hold the speakers in the upright position. I don't see where they are lacking.

Thanks Jesse! Lots of new folks around here since I was last a "regular",.. good to see some familiar names too!

No, my bass is actually just fine. Those 25 year-old electrolytics need to go, though. I think I'm going to put some Solen/Dayton/Mills parts in there, maybe some new binding posts, and button 'em back up.

Those things look like they were just busted out of some time machine. Talk about nice condition!
I have heard those Realistic drivers are the cat's **** for making bass. Wrap the baskets on them with lots of electrical tape to kill the ringing and let us know the results.

I say just leave the hole there, no need to put new subs in or the old PR's back. Gives it sort of an industrial look, plus now they will sound like BOSE speakers now, and we all know BOSE is better than SDA.

Be sure not to re-install the PR's upside down or they will be out of phase resulting in less bases.:cheesygrin:

    Uh-oh!...

And yes, this pair of blade-blade SRS2's are real nice. I got them from RuSsMaN and whoever had them before that had taken good care of them. Russ installed the RDO-194's, I think. All I've done is listen to them and show them off to unsuspecting folks who are invariably blown away by them. I plan on having them for a long time.
