New Polk Tweeters are not a good replacement for original Peerless

I am disappointed, I have a pair of RTA 12's and ordered replacement drivers from Polk. The woofers seem fine but the tweeters are crap; they have crappy plastic faceplates and are not the right size. Even if I could mount the tweeters on my crossovers I'm sure the crappy plastic faceplates would resonate as there is no backing for them on this model.

The tweeter they said was the replacement was SR2000 or SL2000, guess I have a new project, figuring how to mount these and make sure they don't resonate.

Sorry to be negative but I'm disappointed right now, kinda bummed that peerless stopped making that tweeter, I'll get over it:)

That is correct the RD0194-1 is NOT a direct replacement. Not sure why they sold you those. IIRC, Parts Express was selling a Peerless that was close (electrically) to the original used in your speaker. Not sure dimensionally how they work out, or you can find the original Peerless used on Ebay or occasionally here in our Flea Market.

H9 is correct, Polk doesn't have a direct replacement for the Peerless, but it is the closet thing they have and other people make it work. Try finding any kind of replacement tweeter from another company for their 20+ year old speakers. Polk just didn't slap something together to make the RD0194-1 and the RD0198-1, they spent good time and money developing a better sounding tweeter to replace the SL2000, SL2500 and the SL3000.

FYI, the plastic housing does not resonate and the new RD0194-1 tweeters sound better than the Peerless.
