Setup in a closet it probably will be ok. In a bigger room it might be lacking.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

Boston1450 you mentioned you don't know anything about OHMS, I assume you mean Ohm's Law. Ohm's law is fundamental when dealing electronics. You also need to understand impedance.
Here is a very nice tutorial on Ohm's law;
http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/dccircuits/dcp_2.html
Look on the left hand side of this site and you will see some very handy calculators for things like coil inductance, (think speaker voice coils) a tutorial on impedance etc. It is not complicated but it is an important thing to understand. Wayne Storr's website has always been very helpful as a source of education for electrical theory, be sure to check out the links at the bottom of the home page very, very interesting.
Once you get a working knowledge of this you will learn how to launch Nuc's. Your neighbors will hear what sounds like massive explosions at you house and call the Cop's. You will be able to blandly tell them you where launching Nuc's with your vintage SDA's and that is what sounded like 5 mega ton atomic bombs going off. You don't have to tell the Coppers you where playing the latest Battle Metal out of Norway.Radio Station W7ITC -
I'd say just pushing 1 pair of either of those speakers would be pushing your luck! You need more power. I would not push them too hard with that set up. Clipping speakers are a bad thing......can be anyways.--Gary--

Give it shoot, you may find it under powered some, but it's a start. Nice that you could add an amp to that avr. Don't crack it about 12 o'clock or so, if it doesn't sound right you're killing your speakers.

Im with halo i wouldnt even consider it with one pair. Worst thing to do to those speakers is under power them!!! Not to mention the stress on the amp.aint worth it. And even if it didnt blow tje drivers or amp , not enough power to even tickle those speakers nevermind open them up.Main Rig:

It seems that is an older Class D amp from HK. It was discontinued, for whatever reasons. Not sure if it can even handle lower ohm loads?
I've run SDA 2Bs off a Kenwood AVR and didn't blow anything, but that AVR was 35 lbs, had a limiter switch for 4 ohm loads and was rated an honest 130 watts x 2 at 8 ohm. In fact, the receiver was really a stereo receiver with limited power for rear channel non-digital Dolby surround (about 20 watts x 2). So the main power was up front, L/R. And at 8 ohms it could drive a set of floorstanders to thunderous volumes. Still I "never" pushed it with the SDAs...waited for separates on that.
I be very careful here. Those D amps do deliver their full current capacity to all channels, due to their HIGH efficiency, if I'm not mistaken. But that amp is also only rated at 50 watts per channel?

ok. i guess i get it. i have a chance of getting a adcom amp. i think it was 200 watts. will that be enough. i guess after the posts maybe i shouldnt of bought them. i may not make enough money to get what everyone else has.i will say the harman kardon does quite a job at only 50 true watts. i have HK dpr1001 and also a HK avr45 at 65 watts..can i add a adcom or a NAD amp. would this work..i will say at 50 HK will rattle the windows....i just got these old speakers 300.00 almost mint sda2..rta15tl for 300.00.. i dont need unit that goes so loud i cant think..just want to make sure its safe to use without hurting items..i am going to add amp. but im broke for NOW...
