Grill ON or OFF for Lsi series?
Just curious, for 2 channel music from Lsi series, do you listen with grill on or off? does it matter?

I always listen at my speakers with no grille, they're sexier IMO. However, as steve said, it's up to you. Sometimes, it might tame the "high" : if there is some kind of harshness, it might help. Also, grilles are there to protect the speakers. With kids, animals or if you got a lot of your friends walking or standing near your speakers for any reason, I would keep the grilles on.
If you're not in any of the there mentionned situation, do whichever you prefer. There is a small but perceptible difference between on and off, some people like on, other off.Speakers: Polk Audio LSiM 705, LSiM 703, LSiM 704c

Grills always on my LSi's because I have cats. But if I didn't have them I would run without grills just to show the speakers off more.

I too prefer to have the grills off for cosmetic reasons mainly, the grills are boring looking and I kind of like the industrial look. I have no kids or pets to worry about and I do put the grills back on when I have company. I've been considering removing the grill fabric and just having the diamond design of the frames instead, which will still protect the speakers, but will also allow you to see the workings.

did I read it right that pyrocyborg said w/o grills, the high is more?

A bit clearer with grills off, imo

On. But mostly because I have an old house that collects a lot of dust and I don't want all off that on my drivers. If I had a state of the art air-filtration system, perhaps, Off?

I just dusted my drivers a few minutes ago. I remember doing that in the past after not doing it for months, and I swear it actually sounded a little better after dusting.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

Man, y'all are a bunch of pigs. These speakers are not pieces of meat to be oggled over; these are classy, respectable speakers, and they deserve to be treated as such.
Keep the cloths, or should I say clothes, on. please.2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's

Sorry, I have to disagree. Speakers are like good looking women. They need to be naked to truly be appreciated. :loneranger:Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

true. but sadly the Lsi looks too busy(too machine looking) when naked. LsiM looks way better naked. -

...depends on the woman!
In all seriousness, I like speakers to fool me, and they generally fool me better when their private parts aren't showing.:cool:2-Channel: PC > Schiit Eitr > Audio Research DAC-8 > Audio Research LS-26 > Pass Labs X-250.5 > Magnepan 3.7's
