The Unity are mid level HAT's. Not in the same league as the SR's. I've recently heard the legatia SE which is the top end in HAT. The ring radiator tweet was very similiar to the SR but the SR mid blows the legatia mid out of the water. The SR has better energy down low and a much more detailed midrange. The only MB I'd put ahead of the SR are the Scans and maybe the Dyn and DLS. All three cost a fair bit more than the SR's.

Skip, you could make a killer bookshelf with the SR mid and tweet. Just a thought.

What HAT mids did you get a chance to listen to, the L4, L6, L8 or all of them ?

    Kenwood X595
    Polk MM6501
    Polk MM1240

The L6 paired with the L1 pro R2 tweet. The MB had good punch down low but lacked details, the lower end notes sounded the same. The L6 was running all the way to 5khz, but when I played the mids alone, I felt the 500-5khz range lacked a bit of details. However when I engaged the tweet, this issue was less noticieable. The RR tweet is really nice, very smooth and open. But $600 for a pair of tweets is kinda steep considering that the best Scan tweets cost less. Overall a nice set but a bit overpriced and definately not better than the SR's. At least for me.
