The weather is nice this weekend, overcast, windy and about 71 degrees.

Scalped, weedeated and edged the front yard yesterday and did the same today to the back yard.

Put down some feed and bug killer in the front and back today.

Trimmed some of the bushes but the rest will have to wait until next weekend.

Every muscle in my body is screaming at me but man does it feel good to get that much fresh air.

I feel like I got a good start in being ready.

Just wish I had a kewl mower like JSTAS but with a corner lot my push mower does fine, just not as kewl as flames.

All I do is mow the weeds ....the recent rains have made the weeds grow so when it's mowed , it kinda looks like a nice yard from a distance ....

Sounds like me OP. Did the same thing Friday and enjoyed it. I fired up the Atrium 60's off my Zone 2, used the Iphone to control the Squeezebox, and enjoyed being out there. Trimmed my Palm trees a little, they look awesome since I used those spikes. I wanted to throw something on the grill while I was out there, but everything was frozen. Other than that, it was nice. I get to enjoy an ocean/city view since I'm on top of the hill.

Sounds like we were on the same page Saturday. That's exactly what I did to the front yard. Today was spent washing windows and making 4 trips to home depot for next weekends project.

    - 14 bags of topsoil
    - 18 bags of colored mulch (probably still need more but it will be un colored)
    - Cedar fencing material (going to be used for the border of a 40 foot flower bed)
    - 6 trellis's and backer boards to mount them.

The back yard is being left alone till I get all this other stuff done. It will take longer and I need to get the stuff that I ordered in the ground before it gets too hot. Hoping next weekend will be just like this one.

I need to get some weed screen and mulch for my Texas Garden.

    Hopefully next weekend.

I have to admit that I am not sore today which is a nice surprise, I do find I need some Advil after a day working in the yard.

I did go to bed at 9:00 Sat and Sun night.

I bet the 5"s of rain overnight washed a good bit of fertilizer away.

Fortunately I scalped my yard and put the fertilizer down on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the much needed rain combined with the fertilizer has my yard already in need of another mowing.

I heard you guys east of me got a lot more rain than we did. I just checked the weather calender and it shows we only got 2 inches total from yesterday afternoon through today. I'm hoping most of the fertilizer got absorbed instead of running off. Guess I'll wait a week or two and see.

I'm certainly glad I don't have to mow my lawn again this weekend. I have all summer to mow every week without starting in March.
