fxi vs rti surround
I am sure this has been addressed before, but I just thought about it. Does the fxi line in bipole mode, perform like the say rti28 surround. Therefore, the fxi would be a more robust speaker because in a smaller room, you could use it in bipole mode, but still have the option of filling the room with more sound while in dipole mode? Thank people.

This is a topic of some debate among people.... Personally I like my FXi30's, but they are mounted on side walls directly directly behind my couch and chaise, with my RTi 38's as rears on the back wall. I think of it this way, if you dont have enough room in front of the RTi to let the sound disperse a bit (less of a point source), the FXi would be a better choice. (In my opinion)Denon 3802

Oh I think I get it. So what you are saying, is that they would actually be better in a smaller room, because the sound gets spread sooner, because that is the nature of the speaker. Insted of just straight out of the rtis

I have the opposite, I have the 38's on side walls and the fxi30's on the back wall becuase my couch sits right on the back wall and their smaller then the huge 38's... the fxi's are in bi-pole modeMY HT RIG:

Oh yeah.. My Fxi30 and Rti38's are on the floor! lol!
Hope to have the 30's on the side ever so slightly behind the couch, and the mighty 38's bringing up the rears about 10-12 feet from behind the couch on the back wall.
