Just got the monitor 7c's in and they look beautiful, but 1 of the tweeters is fryed..

I was thinking about just getting the rd0194's anyhow, but while i'm at it...How much of a difference does upgrading the caps actually make? I want to get the best sound i can out of them..

There is someone selling a cap upgrade kit on ebay for $22, are these the good ones or would i be better off getting them elsewhere..

also, how far should the speakers be apart for the best imaging? The room is carpeted and 14 feet wide and i just built a couple stands to get them off the floor..

It was kinda hard to get a good idea of how the sl2000's sounded with one fryed, but the upgraded tweeters are so raved about here i might just bite the bullet and get them(other choice being another sl2000)

Let me know what you guys think, i'm a little of a perfectionist when it comes to this stuff(at least my wife thinks i'm nuts)
Thanks, Jeff.

P.s.---i know people already gave me other advice from another post, but i'm torn.

as a matter of budget an sl2000 will cost about 20 to 30 dollars a pair of 194's or for that matter 01 98 will cost you about 100 dollars after your club discount if you were going to do the caps you might is well get a little larger cap and do the 198 they cost the same as the 194's. you just need to go from a. 13.5 uf cap instead of a 12 uf cap I just finished recapping some 5 jr+ and the difference is remarkable. 22 sounds cheep for me for caps it just depends on what caps they're giving you there are dozens of red hear about we cabbing polk speakers most seems to like the clarity brand you silly px type. you can get them easily from madisound or other sources you can also download the schematic for your speakers here. the monitor 7 is a very nice sounding speaker I have a pair as well. if you're looking at it as an investment 4 future resale don't if u. want them to sound there best then do it big difference is impressive.
