Looking for Sony TA-N9000ES owners to answer a few questions

I recently picked up a used minty TA-N9000ES. I have been quite happy with the unit so far, but I find that the user manual is horrible! They don't provide much information on how to determine which operation mode is the best to use. For example, I can't tell if the power output is increased in Normal mode when switching from 5ch operation to 3ch operation. I am currently using it in 3ch operation because I assumed that output would increase, but it isn't clear in the manual. My speakers are 8 ohm, so I may try BTL 2ch + 1. Anyway, I know the amp is getting on the older side, but I was just curious if there are many people on here still using this amp. Thanks!
