Hi, this is my first post here. Anyways, my car has a sheet of plastic under the door panels[cant remember what its called right now], basically, should I cut holes in it where the speakers go or not? I have the db525s in there right now with the plastic sheets uncut and they are distorting very easily[I have the Alpine CDM-9803 model deck powering them right now and they start distorting when the volume gets to 15]. All help will be very appreciated.

You would have better luck on Car Stereo issues in the Car Audio section of the forum. Good luck on your problem.

Powered by Dodge/Jstas/Sntsuperman are all helpful over there.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

You will want to direct auto questions in the car audio section of the forum. But I would say yes you should cut the plastic sheet only as big as your speaker hole and use the speaker screws and the frame of the speakers to help hold it back in place, without it you could get a draft or air leak through your door panels.
