Congrats Bob. Beautiful unit. Assume you'll high tail it up there to pick it up this weekend.

    Bob you are quick!

05 is very tunable with the tubes you place up top. Can be very revealing or thick and mushy. Your choice.

One great preamp and stands toe to toe against my friend's ARC 5se.

This sucker will really cut the mustard. I had to reattach all components for a quick test before the amp and pre warmed up. It sounds like what I was looking for.

This week will be fun. Thanks for all the tips here.

I am not very good at writing reviews but I will say that I have never heard music sound like this before. You can listen to something a 100 times but until you can feel and hear how a piece of music was really written and meant to be heard it is eerie.

I will say that this pre is paired with the cary 306 so that may make a difference. I am totally satisfied withe this combination. It can actually give you a big fat **** grin.

This was a bargain at the selling point, no doubt about it. This is going to be a real fun journey now. Thanks Tony!

I had the 100mk3 which was very very good. This is way about that price point. I am sure the 150 is real good.

Incremental steps up Brian.....100-150-300. The 100 is no slouch on it's own, the 150 could be your destination piece for many. The 300....I have not heard but as far as I can tell, you'd have to spend 5 figures and then some to do better. For what Bob picked up that 300 for....PPPFFFT, he wasn't going to get better sound for that price anywhere imho.

Bob, hearing is believing. Do you now know what I meant by more fleshed out notes, more weight, layered bass ? The sound is kinda hard to describe as it's so complete top to bottom and extremely musical. Good choice my friend, I wish you many happy listening sessions.

The wait is killing me, too! I picked up the 100mkIII off the forum and am waiting for it to arrive. Now I really can't wait. Why does Oregon have to be so freaking far from KY? Why does it have to be a holiday weekend? Thanksgiving is stupid and turkeys are ugly and don't even taste good!

Speaking of, hope everyone has a great, relaxing weekend with nonstop tunes that sound better than they ever have!

Also, being from Kentucky (and I'm not being paid by any lobbyist) I suggest people drink more Bourbon this weekend...especially while the relatives are around.

Just to keep this thread alive. I did purchase a slp-05 to compare against the 300me. All the pre amps so far have been a great comparison. The slp-05 was to good to pass up just for sake of comparison. That's what it's all about, right. Who knows.
