Pristine Pioneer SX-727

Hello guys, I found a pristine Pioneer SX-727 receiver in my friend's attic!.
I was helping him to clean his house and on one corner I saw a big black bag cover with tape and a big sign saying "Do not touch". I opened and I saw this wonderful receiver, it is old but it is in pristine shape. it just needs a good clean to make it "brand new". I open the covers and all is original. To put this guy as new it will be necessary to change the electrolytic caps. I try and it play very nicely. all is working. I do not have the time and patience to upgrade caps. so it must go. I will just ask $40 to be picked up in New York. A very nice vintage Pioneer. I have one, but it doesn't look this good. In the pics, it looks like it sits a little low...is it missing the feet?

Let me know if you decide to ship.

it is low because I took the metal bottom to take pictures from inside.The bottom has the feet! I do not want to ship it, because it is way too heavy around 32 pounds and I do not have a box and beside it will be a shame if it damages.

It's a nice and very beautiful model. Do you have the speaker plugs for it?

I did not look for them! His attic is big and there is not to much light . I guess I can try to look for them next time I go there.

It would add a bit of value for a neophyte collector to include the slightly odd polarized speaker plugs that were intended to be used with the Pioneers of that era (early/mid 1970s). It's still an excellent value at 40 smackers - with or without the speaker plugs.

I found the speaker terminals at e-bay new for $20 pair. I guess they are not so rare!

Well, it is very heavy and the s/h will be a lot. if you only have someone in New York that can pick it up for you it will be the best!

I live in Queens ! as I said it will be a shame to damage this Receiver since it looks like new. and for what I saw, nobody worked or opened this receiver before. all is original!

I really like these earlier Pioneers quite a bit. The sound seems "warmer" than the later series X50/X80s. And some claim the X2X series is even a little 'sweeter' sounding than the X3X?

I have an SX-838 that just sounds wonderful with a set of EPI 100Vs. This is a steal at this price.

Someone should pick this up!

ok....I can not wait more! so the first come the first serve!!! it is just $20. I checked receiver and all is working even all lights ( I had to use alligator clips to connect the speakers) it sounds really nice. :cheesygrin:
