I forgot all about the time change. This morning I sleepily glanced at my electric (manual set) alarm clock before I stepped into the shower, and my cell phone (automatic time) after my "hour and 10 minute" shower.

Someone asked me how I felt about losing an hour of sleep. I said, "I don't plan on losing an hour of sleep; I plan on losing an hour of being awake."

Read on funny article yesterday about daylight savings time. An Indian chief, when asked what he thought about DST once said "Only the Government would think that if you cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sewing it to the bottom will make it longer." LOL.

Maybe that's why Az doesn't "do" DST?

Yeah, my watch is got that atomic feature and some clocks around the house do but not the micro or the oven or the one in the car, so I really have to make sure i do the non-atomic ones before going to bed.

I hate D.S.T. changes. It's like getting the effects of jet lag imposed on you twice a year. However, I love having the extra hour in the evening for spring and fall outdoor dining, so I wouldn't like it if we just stuck to regular time all year ... Oh, and THANK YOU President G.W.B. for changing the dates! I love the extra weeks we have now.
We have had daylight savings time almost 100 years and yet the clock manufactures have yet to build this feature into our clocks. Every clock/watch sold should have this feature as an option in our country.:frown::frown::frown:
Yes, it would nice if more home clocks could do this. Our microwave actually has a D.S.T. setting, so it doesn't update automatically, but it makes the process much simpler. The worst are the ones where you have to advance the minutes to change the hours, so you have to adjust everything manually to ensure an accurate time display.

Both of our cars do update automatically. One is digital, so it changes just the digit. The other has an analog clock that updates automatically, including when driving from one time zone to another. It's quite nifty to see the analog hands go whizzing around the dial on the interstate!
    Alea jacta est!

I bought a clock many years back that had DST built in, unfortunately the Govt decided to switch when they adjusted the clocks, now that feature is useless.

I think it's time for a new one!
    No excuses!

I counted 15 clocks that needed to be reset the other night, and
there are several more that change themselves.
