I try not to post these kind of things but I'm going to loose it.

My not even 1 year old nephew went to the doctors yesterday to find out he has a rare disease that has now caused him to have a hole eaten into his skull bone and has a nice sized hole there.

He is going in for a full body scan to see if it has spread anywhere else and will have to have a chunk of skin removed from his skull to see if they can stop the spread.

If it has he will have to undergo Chemo and there is very low survival rate of people with the disease. If removed it normally comes back in about 6 months to a year and will have the same thing happen.

Please just keep him in your thoughts, I never thought someone so young could have something so terrible..

Holy cr@p! Could they not have detected the disease earlier, or would it not have mattered?

Best wishes for the little guy and the entire family.

Unable to find words that fit, except to say we will pray for you all.

We are so sorry to hear, however, these days, medicine advances so quickly, and the young can rebound and heal so quickly from surgery and procedures, well, you never know what hope might be there tomorrow that is not today, heres hoping so.

Well the full body scan went well on Saturday. He is going in for pre op today and then will have the skin removed tomorrow and also take a look at the bone and how badly it was eaten.

John I don't remember the name of the disease but will double check when I get home.

Even though there is no where else for now he will have to be monitored for the rest of his life as it normally comes back 6-12 months later in a different part of the body. Just have to hope he has a longer remission period than that.
