FM radio channel vs. iHeartRadio

Should a channel on internet be about the same sync on a FM channel? Would think if the FM channel is the master wouldn't the internet channel be later 5 seconds or so? I'm only about a 1/2 seconds on the internet.
What's going here?

What does it matter? I've streamed some radio stations that have completely differnet material from the broadcast. I've also streamed local talk radio that inserts random instrumental music during commercials on the internet stream but not on the broadcast.
My point is, I'm sure many stations are different so who's to make a general statement about sync issues.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Differentiation by numbers is for those who do not".--Nelson Pass Pass Labs XA25 | EE Avant Pre | EE Mini Max Supreme DAC | MIT Shotgun S1 | Pangea AC14SE MKII | Legend L600 | BlueSound Node 3 - Tubes add soul! -

Another factor is that many streaming players, whether they are inside of a browser or not, will buffer the stream to avoid dropouts. I can't think of a way to accurately synch internet radio with broadcast radio, even if they are the same material. If that is a need, one way to do it would be with multiple Squeezeboxes or similar device and a local Logitech Media Server (fka Squeezebox Server). Internet radio streams to Logitech Media Server, then LMS relays to your multiple players in synch. Or just use two FM radios... -
Well my question is what is the master where is this signal coming from is FM analog DEAD?
The radio channel is Smooth Jazz 102.5fm which I have issues receiving I believe its 250w channel? http://www.1025wloq.com/main.html does anyone know how to check that? Is this channel which is on 107.7fm Hd2 also, iHeartRadio and 102.5fm, its not clean reception to me. When they were on 103.1fm they sound great and I had no issues to receive this channel, since the owners sold this channel. When Clear Channel got this channel back on 102.5fm I had issues with them.
So I would think that a FM channel is main to the major FM channel then to Hd2 channel then to iHeartRadio. But in this case I'm thinking Hd2 then its feed to iHeartRadio and the FM channel. So is FM dead is the question?

It does appear that the 102.5 signal is as you say, 250 watts. It comes from about 500ft up, so it's high and should cover well, and is an omni-directional signal. The transmit location is about a mile north of the lakes of Orlando and Fairview...close to Highway 441. Originating signal either is or was 107.7, WMGF of Mount Dora.
Hope that helps.

That’s why I don’t, I bought all of my current gear based on technical parameters alone, such as specs and measurements."

It seems very weak for a FM channel, but think channels are limited to wattage for the propose in coverage fcc rules. Being that 102.5 is so weak, and 103.1fm was so strong. Why would a heavy weight like Clear Channel buy a 250watt transmitter when they allowed 103.1fm with a 22kw transmitter to be sold. Now I understand they Clear Channel didn't own 103.1 at that time, and was interdependently owned. But if they were support for the format of "Smooth Jazz" why allow it to be sold if Clear Channel was going to bring it back?
One Pissed off listener.

Not completely related, but I find it ironic that Clear Channel's app is called i heart radio, since Clear Channel has done more than almost any entity to rip the heart right out of radio. -
Maybe because clear channel had their stations up for sale due to being on the verge of bankruptcy. Bain capitol came in and saved their arses. Iheart radio, isn't that internet based station ? Why would you not get good reception ? Maybe I'm confused as to your analog question and how your listening.
I do all my radio listening these days by way of Rhapsody, never had a problem.HT SYSTEM-

iheartradio is a streaming internet radio app. I think it was independent and was a good app, that could be used to access internet streams for most any radio station. It was then purchased by clear channel, and now only support clear channel stations. I think they are trying to build it into a streaming service like Rhapsody, Pandora, etc. -
I listen to Cool Jazz on Rhapsody and never have a problem. I think Steve's concern is the Cool Jazz by way of FM analog reception. My question is, why is he still listening by way of analog anyway ?
Not tossing any analog tuner under the bus either as I'm a big fan of older tuners SQ, but there are too many ways today to listen to radio stations to be tied to local signal strength.HT SYSTEM-

About my analog tuner.... IMHO if I can't get a clean analog signal to my analog tube pre amp to drive a nice sand amp. It sounds different (read bad) so anything which needs my Pioneer Elite AVR is colors my sound. (read screws it up).
Now no one is pissed that a radio station is saying hey we're here, but they aren't and maybe an internet radio? 250w vs a 22000w radio transmitter and they pass them self as a Radio Station for ORLANDO wtf. Is this the only radio transmitter which was for sale? This is like a go cart vs. a really car give me a break.
