This cat from florida just baught a set of 301's from me. He doesn't want to pay 30$ in shipping. So he is driving to get them.
This guy sounds like a freek.

    He really wants to drive up from FL to PA???

    You might want to meet him in a public area and bring some friends, otherwise I'd tell him no deal unless you get paid first and then ship it.

    Maybe he's afraid the items may get damaged in shipping. I'd follow F1NUT's suggestion about meeting him in a public place with friends. Since he already paid you, I don't think there's anything fishy going on.

    Beat his **** and send him back to FL with no speakers and no money.

    I agree, public venue....and a cattle prod.

    I see you boys are from Maryland. I used to live in Frederick. My inlaws are kept there. If they are released in time we are supposed to visit for Thanksgiving.

    I had a kind of similar situation recently (but not quite as weird as yours) after I had sold some sports tickets on ebay. After trading a few emails the guy calls me and wants to come pick up the tics in person. However the guy is only coming from Kenosha which is only 2-3 hrs. away. Still I was only charging an extra $10 for shipping (plus he would have had to pay a few bucks for a money order) and considering the size of the SUV he drove up in (not to mention his time) it would certainly have been cheaper for me to just mail the tics to him C.O.D..

    From the email and phone correspondences I got the impression that he was worried I mighrt sell the tickets out from under him even though he won the auction fair and square. I repeatedly assured him the tics were his. Still he seemed real anxious to have them in his hands thus the willingness to drive to Madison on a Monday night.

    I did feel a little nervous about having some stranger come into my house where he knew I had valuable tickets but I never went so far as to set up a neutral meeting place and bring a friend. The thought did cross my mind though.

    When the guy finally showed up he was just a normal dude who was really excited about getting the tickets. He paid in cash and was in and out of my house in less than 5 minutes.

    My reservations turned out to be much ado about nothing.

    Your situation does appear to be a bit more odd. Meeting in public and bringing a friend (or two) may be a good idea even though chances are it will turn out it probably wasn't necessary. Still better safe than sorry if you (or your wife) are not comfortable with him coming to your house.

    I called the guy back . I told him I'd mail them for half price. The speakers retail for 350$. He bid 160$ plus a min. of 18hr drive plus at least 100$ in gas. The weird thing was he called last night at 11pm. When I called him back he seemed harmless just weird.
    90% of all people in this world are good. It is the other 10% that screw it up.




    This cat was deffinatively in that 10%!
