Use Monitor 40s as in-ceiiling speakers?

Hi,
I purchased used two Rti8s and a CSi5 center plus a PSW 505 sub. Really enjoy the sound. The purchase also included a pair of Monitor 40s. The front, surround and sub have "intruded" on the great room and I do not want to add to the clutter by hanging the Monitor 40s on the wall as surrounds (plus the room layout really makes this a problem.) My plan was to purchase some Polk ceiling mount speakers but I'm wondering if it would make sense to use the Monitors in the ceiling (my great room has cathedral ceilings and i can easily access the space from above.) Would this be audio overkill?

I tried craigslisting the 40s but I'm a distance from any "market."

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Could be done I suppose, but IMO the effort it would require would not be worth the return. Then there's also the chance you would end up with a ruined set of speakers and an ugly hole in your ceiling. I'd say get some proper in-wall or in-ceiling speakers and use the Monitor 40s for height/wides or for a separate room if you can't sell them.
