I have a question about how different are the SRS 3.1TL's versus the RTi150's? I currently have the RTi150's pushed by an Emotiva XPA-2 and they sound fantastic. Would the SRS 3.1TL's be a latteral move or just "different"?

I currently run the 150's for mains, the CS400i center, and the RT1000i's for rear's with a DSWPro 600 sub.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

For theater use, I see it as a lateral move. For music, the 3.1 wins in my book with the SDA soundstage.

Agreed. Although, I would also argue that the tones of the 3.1TL's vurses the RTi150's are pretty different. My preference being for the 3.1TL with the RDO-198 tweeter included. If you redid the crossovers and added RDO-198 tweeters in the 3.1TL's I would also argue that the tones, clarity and overall fidelity would absolutely be better than the RTi-150's. The downside is that it would cost you a pretty penny to do these changes. The upside is you would have some nice sounding speakers when you are done.

Edit: If you are looking to do mostly home theatre use, I would stay with the RTi-150's. If you are looking to get into 2 Channel music more, I would go for the 3.1TL's (IMO).

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Ever heard an SDA speaker set ? If not, you'll never have a basis for comparisons. JMHO.

You can't drive SDA's with emo's, it's against the law.

If your close to WI and own the 3.1's I'll take them off your hands :)

I would say if you do HT stick with what you got.
