Pioneer VSX-819h problem

Tonight I was watching 'Blood Diamond'. Everything was working fine, my system was performing just as I wanted it to. I paused it for a minute, and then went to go do something. When I came back, I pressed play. Bad choice. There was a loud pop...and my receiver turned off. It still won't come back on. I checked all my speaker connections, and there didn't seem to be any problems with stray wires or anything. The only thing I can think of is that it might have over heated...I'm hoping that's not it. I unplugged everything and moved it out of the system to try and see if I could get it to work, but it still won't turn on. It's been a few hours now, definitely long enough for any residual heat to escape, but still no change. Any advice, or should I just start surfing newegg? It's several years old, out of warranty, and it's lived a good life. I'd rather not spend the extra money if there's a simple fix, but I'm afraid it might have given up the ghost..

you could try removing the cover and see if you see any obvious heat or smoke damage as well as looking for protection fuses. It might be a simple fix of replaceing a fuse. Now what caused it to trip a fuse in the first place would be beyond my skill and would prob recommend looking for something else if it pops another fuse.2-ch System: Parasound P/LD 2000 pre, Parasound HCA-1000 amp, Parasound T/DQ Tuner, Phase Technology PC-100 Tower speakers, Technics SL-1600 Turntable, Denon 2910 SACD/CD player, Peachtree DAC iT and X1asynchorus USB converter, HSU VTF-3 subwoofer.
