I just bought a used B&K power amp. My question is i have to set the volume on the back of the amp almost at maximum to hear any audio . Is this the normal?

You should set it to max, then run Audyssey again on your Onkyo. It should calibrate it to the proper levels on its own.

    I also have a 2 channel Sonance 2120 power amp. http://www.sonance.com/products/electronics/detail/231
Would you guys recommend just running the B&K and sell the Sonance or hook it up to power my surrounds. My first thought is just keep the 3 channel B&K and let the AVR power the rest. Any thought?

Try it both ways and see what you like better. If it was me, I would let the avr handle surround duty and maybe sell the other amp to offset the cost of the B&K.
