Which LSi to go with?

Looking to get some Polk LSi speakers due to getting a discount on them where I work. I will be using an HK AVR 230 as a pre/pro and running a Marantz MM9000 (150x5 @ 8 ohms) on the Polks. What I want to know is should I go with LSi9s up front or go with the full-range towers, the LSi15s? In the specs it seems the 15s would handle midrange a little better, due to having all the bass given to the 8" driver while the dual 5.25" pick up 150hz and above. The LSi9s don't have a HPF (high pass filter) and one handles all low range up to 200hz and the other takes all low-mids up to 2.4khz.

Also if I get the 15s I'm thinking of bi-amping them and running the last channel to the center. The way my townhouse is setup it's going to be VERY hard to get rears to work so I was just thinking of doing a 3.1 setup. I listen to music 80% of the time anyhow and it reall wouldn't hurt me to not have rears.

***This taken off Polks site to maybe help you guys understand the crossovers better***

POLK LSi15s:
Driver 1: HPF at 150Hz 6dB/oct, LPF at 800Hz 12dB/oct.
Driver 2: HPF at 150Hz 6dB/oct, LPF at 2.4kHz 12dB/oct.
Tweeter: HPF 2.4kHz 18dB/oct.
Crossover(subwoofer) LPF at 150Hz 12dB/oct.

POLK LSi9s:
Driver 1: LPF at 200Hz 12dB/oct.
Driver 2: LPF at 2.4kHz, 12 dB/oct.
Tweeter: HPF at 2.4kHz 18dB/oct.

ANY input is greatly appreciated!

3.1 doesnt seem like a good idea to me. If you have already bought the 230 then I would go 5.1, otherwise what's the point? If you can really only fit the fronts in then go 2 channel and sell or dont buy the 230 and buy a better 2 channel preamp. Biamping is fine, just leave the 5th channel of the marantz unused and dont buy a center, save up for when you have space for 5.1. go for 2.1 or 5.1, 3.1 doesnt make any sense.

We will be building a house in 2 years and I would like to have a receiver that's 5.1 (actually it's 6.1 with 7.1 outputs) for another application, maybe even for my computer as I computer game a ton. Also I may be able to pick up or I might even just buy (2) Polk LSi9s with my purchase and not use them until I do have room for them. I really don't see myself buying a new speaker setup for the next 5 years and that may be the way to go. Also while watching a movie how often do you even notice the rears? I don't notice mine very often and when I do it's only brief and usually not important.

Imo, the 9 is the better speaker of the two. I don't feel the 8" woof in the 15 is 'up to speed' with the rest of the drivers.

    Close, but not quite there.

    Cheers,
