It's been a wierd year for sure. Even unseasonably warm in southern az. At our elevation (4600ft) we usually at least see some snow flurries a few times in the winter---this year---nothing.

And in NW Tucson (2600') I've been snowed on twice this year at work. Mid 70's today.

Yep, those storms never seem to dip down south enough to hit Sierra Vista. That's why you guys get more rain too.

Yeah and 10 years ago there was a "La Nina" in the Pacific Ocean that caused similar conditions.

Back then, East Asia got hammered with bad weather. The past two years, East Asian countries are reporting record snowfalls and low-temps.

The dudes at NOAA said that's happening again.

    Spring kicked it's ****.

I planted broccoli, cabbage, brussell sprouts, and cauliflower this week. Now it is a Fall crop but still rather mild here also. Mild enough that the grass is growing and we cut way back on feeding hay this winter.

I still have a rosemary plant still kickin'....outside for pete's sake. I could dig growing veggies all year long if this keeps up.

When you look back, weather patterns didn't change overnight. It was a gradual effect until one day you wake up and theirs a glacier in your front yard.....or sand, one of the two. Seems like we are in a transitional period thats either going to lead to palm trees for everyone or snowcones. I prefer the palm trees myself.

Or....maybe it's mother natures way of telling us to "Pack your sh&t, your going....away. "

I wish I lived up north, maybe I'll buy a vacation home for the winter in Michigan or Ohio one day... maybe even Maine. what ya'll think? it's supposed to be 80 tomorrow with a low of 65, then Saturday is supposed to be 68 with a low of 42. I've been running my air on 73 74 bc it's 78 outside... too hot. we never had a winter down here Alabama, just had 4 days where it was 55-62, then 75-79. lows ranging everywhere from 23-65 in the past two months.

I was asking myself this same question the other day. I live in the area they call the "Siberia of Bavaria" and we've had maybe 6" of snow all winter.

Wherever it is, I hope it keeps going there every year! I hate cold weather, especially since I've gotten sick. The cold air really bothers my lungs. Even though it's been a mild winter, there's still been a lot more cold days than I like.

It's supposed to be 89 today according to weather.com but NWS says it'll just be 85. I guess it's getting to be time to service the cooling systems in the house.
