Any one using these? I am thinking of putting dual 10's in my Camaro, Not that I need dual's but I like the subwoofer box configuration better in the trunk. I'm not trying to rattle my car apart as I drive down the road either, I just want some better bass coming from my car..
I should note I am not a guru at car stereos, so any help would be awesome..
Thanks!!

Two tens would be fine. Not sure how noisy or quiet the Camaro is, but I have a feeling the two 10's would be ideal. To get a sub sounding the way it should you need to take care of three things. Keeps the gains on the amp low, cut the sub~40-60hz on a steep slope and get the right size sealed box. That will give you a nice tight fill in for the lower end.

Why not two 12's ?

Had a single MM1040 hooked up to a JL Slash 500/1, loved every minute of it.
The MM's sound amazingly clean in a sealed enclosure and sized to spec. I'm contemplating getting 2 ten's for my truck; right now I have 2 10" Rockford Fosgate P1's that sound nothing like the Polk's did granted they are entry-level from RF.Truck setup

I can vouch for them. Ran a pair of 10's for 2 years in MECA. In hind sight, I'd rather have the 12's. 12's are just the best size of sub for music IMO. But a pair of MM10's will certainly get the job done.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Thanks guys, I figured two 10's would do the job, I have 8 sheets of Dynamat on the way, I'm looking forward to starting this project so I will have more questions as I move along.Polk Audio SDA 2.3tl Fully Hot Rodded. 😎

8 might over do it, so you should just send a couple sheets my way
What do you plan on powering the MM's with? Going with two SVC or DC subs?Truck setup

I just bought a couple Dynamat door kits. One for each door with some left over to get other panels around the dash and such. Having everything good and dampened really helps a lot in isolating the music from the rest of the car. You can really tell the difference in cars that have yanked out the interior and Dynamated everything. That costs am arm and a leg tho and more work than I'm willing to put into it tho. When I get a new car I'm going to spend on dynamat to cover the floor, foot wells, firewalls and the boot. It costs about 50 bucks to do a door, I think the entire car will cost a bit. Of course I would increase the vehicle weight and hence raise the gas bills. Since I'm not going to spend on new equipment, I think I'll spend a bit here. It should help in maintaining sound quality while on the move.

It definitely makes a big difference. You can almost instantly tell the cars that have deadened the entire interior. You dont feel anything resonating or vibrating and the music seems "separated" from the car and not part of it like it does without the deadening. If I had tons of cash, Id drop mine off at a shop and let them yank everything out but there is no way Im gonna go thru all that headache and time!polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005
