Dilemma with amplifiers

Hey guys,
So I was initially going to buy a PA 1200.1 to power my single SR 104-DVC but it seems that they've been discontinued and the prices have skied up... Go figure right

But with the discontinuation of the PA 1200.1 they've since brought out a new amplifier the PA D1000.1
which out of the 2 of these would be the best option or would it basically be the same? Just because I noticed the PA 1200.1 retailed for like $700 but would sell for $300 on amazon and the D1000.1 retails for like $350 but sells for like $270 on amazon.
Thanks for your help!

Go for the D1000.1. It's cheaper, takes up less space and puts out enough power for the SR 10".

Cheaper and takes up less space but is it as good?
Probably a dumb question but I just wasn't sure

Bump for this thread, I'd like to know what kind of sound reproduction the d1000.1 provides as well.

You won't hear a difference in sq between those two amps. In any case, amps in general and sub amps in particular don't give you sq. In build quality Polk is fairly standard.

So I now have my SR 104DVC as well as the PA D1000.1 which leads me to another question...

Wiring kits.. Which wiring kit would you guys suggest for this build.. Some places are saying 1/0 Gauge 20 foot wiring, some are saying 4 gauge would suffice... Some recommend JL, some Rockford, some Knu.. I know its all subjective but what do you guys think would match well with my sub/amp matchup?

Wire is wire for the most part. As long as its from a name brand, it'll be good. KnuKonceptz is probably the place I'd suggest. Just as good as anything out there but a lot cheaper. Doubt you need 1/0 gauge. If you're under 150 amps, 4 gauge is enough. Nothing wrong with bigger wire but 1/0 gauge is a lot pricier.

If you haven't ordered your wiring yet, do so through www.knukonceptz.com Same stuff obviously but the shipping is a few bucks cheaper on their website than through amazon.
