no I didn't. The 703's I had boxed up awhile ago and gave my stands to a buddy who needed them and it was before I got the mono's so didn't have a chance to try them out. Image it would have sounded pretty good though.

    So more listening thoughts.

These things get hot, wow. I figured they would but holy crap with the weather here lately I had to turn the AC on for a little bit to cool the room down.

Even though they run hot I really like them. The only other issue is getting them up and running does take some time. Its not where you can go turn on the switch and listen in a few minutes. I let them come up for about 20 minutes and then start listening. Overall the sound just still remains to be more natural to me.

I did have some harmonics coming from a tube. not sure if this could be fixed or what to do. It was ringing at a very high pitch and could only notice when the amp was on with no music, but still annoying.

Overall the bass is great, midrange is nice and I don't feel the top end is rolled off. Details still do come thru. Bass seems to even have a little more tightness to it then before but still deep and good.

Tubes are great in the Winter

Glad you are enjoying them. The heat will become an issue, it does for me every Summer. It's just something you learn to live with. I will say in my case there are times in the Summer when I don't turn the rig on simply because I don't want to deal with the heat issue. This early hot weather doesn't help.

You could try a tube dampner but I suspect you will need to replace. I find with my Tube AMP it takes closer to 2 hours before she sounds her best.

Heat is just a part of living with Tubes. I was thinking mono blocks but I may need to rethink that, in particular the ones I was looking at.

I never found warm tubes to be any sort of problem, some should just ride the sissy sandy side, licking ice pops and igloo's.

I keep a small desktop type fan next to the amp when running mine. $5.00 at Wallmart.
