Subwoofer hum...unusual source?

I know...another thread about subwoofer hum, ground loop, etc. I apologize. I've searched and read a number of threads and articles (plug adapter, grounding wire on the sub and avr/amp, unplug the coax cable, etc). Can't find info related to what I think is my issue. I think I have a ground loop problem and still trying to solve that, but I need some help on the other half of the problem.

I believe some of my subwoofer hum is related to my heat pump and/or furnace. Every time the furnace/heat pump kick on, my sub pops on (as if it senses input) and starts to hum. It ends when the heat turns off.

Is this normal...anybody else experience this? How do I eliminate the issue besides not using my furnace and heat pump?

Thanks!

Try plugging the sub on a different line that isn't shared with the heat pump. A power conditioner may help with the surge your sub is getting too when that pump kicks on.

Thought the heat pump was put on it's own when we had the elec panel replaced, but I'll check.

I've got the sub plugged into my Monster hts5000 and have tried the adapter as well.

I'm alittle surprised that surge is getting past the Monster PC. Something doesn't sound right. It's not a wireless sub is it ?

Plug it into another socket on a different wall and see if it does the same thing. Did you try the cheater plug on the receiver ? What cable are you using for the sub ?

Not a wireless. It's a Sunfire. I tried the plug, but it didn't fit real well; might try it in a different receptacle of the Monster though. Power cable is stock and is attached.
