I just wanted to get some input from those of you that have experience with these speakers. I understand from reading, that they are pretty particular about the room they are put in, and their placement in that room. I also hear they are power hungry as well.
There is a pair in the local buy and sell and the owner says they are a year and a half old, with only 20 hours playing time. He has original packaging and manual. Seems to me that he must have not set them up properly or perhaps under powered them.
Anyway, I guess I'm wondering if his $550.00 asking price seems reasonable and any other thoughts you may have.
Thanks
Tim

You can get them new and shipped to your door around that price.
They have a big following and almost everyone who likes them says they are the best you can do under a 1K. I however, am not a fan of Planars. -
Used, these speakers are 400.00 TOPS.
I have a pair and love them. they image better than a set of SDA-1c's IMHO, but lack the visceral "punch the SDA's deliver. Mate them up with a nice sub to augment the bottom ebd and you will have a huge grin on your face when listening that will be hard to wipe off.:cheesygrin:The Gear... Think I paid $425 for mine. I really like them. So much so that I've been neglecting my LSi9's for about 2months now.HT

I wouldn't pay over $400 either.
They are nice sounding speakers, but as you're aware, they can be picky on room placement.
