Don't pay attention to what people say about your state. It's been said that Tennessee is the only state in the nation where you could drop an Atomic bomb and not do over $500 worth of damage but who cares. It's still a great place to live. lol

Congratulations on finding the CRS+. You got a great deal!

I have a pair of CRS+. I installed the CRS+ mid-woofer drivers and the crossovers into my monitor 10B cabinets and now have the only pair of SDA Monitor 10s that I know of. For me the CRS+10B is the best of both worlds. SDA sound with a little more bass than the stock CRS+. Some will probably say that I ruined two pairs of speakers but I like'em. No harm done to the speakers at all. It's all a bolt in swap that can easily be swapped back. The only modification is a small screw hole drilled on the inside of the 10B cabinets to mount the crossover. Nothing external.

Nothing ruined by swapping out parts, just like a Lego set or Lincoln logs. I love my crs+ and with upgraded inductors plus rings and new seals I get pretty good bass at least for music. My sub is mainly for movies or to blend in with my crs+.
I know a few people from Iowa but I know nothing of the state. I agree with disregarding negative comments about anything people say about things or states they don't know. I'm sure I've heard about the whole spectrum for mine good to bad, but I know what's up here.
Preconceived notions are only good for those conceiving notions prematurely.

EV are you running yours in a Ht set up? how do they sound that way and do you use a center channel running them with the interconnect cable? I have listened to mine I hooked them up to my technics integrated amp with the make shift cable like everyone suggested they sounded pretty nice, also tried with a onkyo reciever sounded ok. the only thing I have not hooked up to something is a Yamaha Avr it puts out 120 wpc @ 6 ohms I hope this will be ok until I can get a Amp and preamp for these, can you sugest what to look for in seperates for running these? I did not sense anything negative, on your post, please forgive me if I sounded like I did, once again thanks EV.

Yeah boyeeee you asked the right questions!
I got rid of my center channel. I had one before I upgraded the tweeters. With upgraded tweeters i regained vocal clarity, and the center channel is not needed with sda. It in fact ruins the sda effect. I find the crs and sda is perfect with theater as well as music. I suggest getting an avr that has preouts, and adding a seperate amp rated 200 watts per 8ohms which will be a bit higher for 6ohms. Get a quality amp, high current. I got my amp gear used that way I got much better quality for my limited budget. You can get a used avr cheaper than a quality amp. I got a pioneer sc series avr with preouts for dirt cheap and then the best amp I could afford. I really like my parasound amp. I just bought another one used to run my Maggie's. I use surrounds with my Polks for home theater with no center. The center is used for vocal tracks and it seems unnatural to have it from just the center. With sda it seems to come from whever it would be in real spatial placement anywhere along the center or above or below. I'll give more ideas in a bit but I'm about to work on my boat to go lobstering and spearfishing with this incredible 80's weather we are having.

You haven't seen but a small sparkle of what these "small" speakers can do. They are a pearl among sda. Despite their size they will create an unreal soundstage of immense size when properly tweaked and fed right.
